Located in the heart of the capital, India Gate stands as a powerful war memorial dedicated to the soldiers of the British Indian Army who lost their lives during World War I. The towering structure, surrounded by lush green lawns and wide roads, immediately captures attention with its grandeur and simplicity. As I approached the monument, the first thing that struck me was its sheer scale. The 42-meter-high arch looks even more impressive in person than in photographs. The names of thousands of soldiers engraved on its surface serve as a silent yet profound reminder of sacrifice. Beneath the arch lies the Amar Jawan Jyoti, an eternal flame that burns in honor of unknown soldiers. Standing there, one cannot help but feel a deep sense of respect and reflection. The atmosphere around India Gate is lively yet balanced. During the evening, the place transforms into a social hub where families, tourists, and locals gather. Children play on the lawns, vendors sell snacks like ice cream and chaat, and people enjoy the cool breeze, especially during summer nights. Despite the crowd, the place maintains a certain calmness, making it suitable for both relaxation and introspection. One of the highlights of the visit is the lighting of India Gate after sunset. The monument glows beautifully under soft yellow lights, creating a mesmerizing view against the dark sky.
